Overview

Fiverr is the world-leading marketplace for freelancing services, with over 10 verticals of expertise offered on demand and a global supply of expert contractors.

Scope

I joined Fiverr in 2019 as their Head of Marketing for the UK region. As a key member of their newly formed International Expansion team across EU and UK regions, our small team was tasked to drive growth in the UK market — the second largest after US — by working with the central marketing organization to localize our messaging and channel marketing portfolio. We deeply analyzed local market data and provided local research back to the central teams to optimize paid search and social messaging and creatives, created tens of long-tail SEO articles and sealed deals with local affiliates and influencers. We even organized local community events. A notable one was hosting a sell-out event with guest Steven Bartlett (The Diary of A CEO) who talked about his experience to inspire small business owners and members of our community.

Impact

Working cross-functionally with the core product and core marketing teams back in Tel Aviv, we managed to grow the Gross Merchandising Value (GMV) in the UK by 80% by optimizing performance marketing, SEO & affiliate marketing channels. One of our product growth experiments deployed only on the UK market increased average basket size by 8% through, which fed into significant GMV growth. Ultimately, the growth and momentum we built in the UK and EU region was instrumental to the Fiverr IPO, which happened almost 9 months into my role.
